Тема поруганной женской чести и мести за нее, видимо- была очень важна в 16 веке.
Этот сюжет был очень популярен в эпоху Возрождения, есть множество гравюр, рисунков и картин.
Только у Кранаха-старшего их около пятнадцати, а гравюры и рисунки делали известнейшие художники того времени.

Здесь, в основном-16 век, есть малоизвестная графика и картины Кранаха, которых я лично не видела.

После поругания Лукреция обо всём рассказала своему мужу и заколола себя на его глазах. Вскоре Коллатин убил насильника, а также поднял народное восстание вместе с другом Брутом, которое завершилось изгнанием царей.
