These two charming old toffee tins ) are 'Dickensian Memories' from A Christmas Carol, and 'The Pickwick Coach', from The Pickwick Papers. Both are from Thorne's English Toffee, one has advert in raised letters, the other has them printed on the bottom.

Wonderful C1910 biscuit or candy tin of some kind. . Stunning color litho decoration, sports images. Man on horse on the front, participating in a fox hunt, hounds run out front. The back bears the image of horse racing, mounted jockeys jumping over hurdles, the audience looks on.

Мне многие написали в комментариях к предыдущему посту, что у них дома тоже есть коробочки такого типа. Неудивительно- они у нас раньше были редкостью,- поэтому, и еще из-за красоты и удобства их хранили. Появились они у нас в продаже сравнительно недавно, в 90-х.
Иногда и покупают печенье или конфеты из-за коробочек, перед некоторыми просто трудно устоять. Да и подарок в такой коробочке намного лучше смотрится.
