Open-work cameo embossing, English circa 1850

Таких открыток сохранилось очень мало, встречаются они крайне редко, но нашелся целый набор по рисункам Гранвиля в музее Виктории и Альберта.

Некоторые цветы могут иметь символическое значение, девятнадцатый век создал полный, а теперь почти забытый "язык цветов", в котором каждое растение имело особый характер и сентиментальный смысл.

reflects the epitome of the workmanship of “The Golden Era.” The top layer is adorned with cabochon “faux jewels”, silk chiffon and silver Dresden die-cuts; a central window, bordered with a wreath of silvered leaves, reveals a subtle image of flowers -- a message written in the Language of Flowers.

Embossed Lace Paper Victorian Greetings Card with attached Chrmolitho scraps. Garland stands pround around intaglio of Little Red Riding Hood. Date C.1880's.

Victorian Lace Paper and Embossed Gilded Valentine Card. Cupid is Lithographically printed in black and then hand coloured. Verse is hand written. Date C.1850's.

Although undated it is probably a greeting from the 1880's or about.

The greeting is embossed paper with the lovely paper lace pop up from the rest of the card. The card opens to a sentimental verse.
The center paper is of a Victorian child holding a kitten. Short message printed below the child.

Beautiful Circ.1860's Victorian Valentine and Envelope. Envelope embossed and gilded opening to reveal the fet-cut paper and gause Valentine Card. Open the card to reveal a posy of silk flowers with the hand written words 'Devoted to you'
