Chandelier and gold work on the walls:Golden Temple.
went to city of Amritsar last sunday, and visited famous golden temple. Due to sunday, there was great rush of devotees lined up in long queue. It took me an hour in queue to get in.

An elaborate gold gilt and opalescent glass chandelier suspended from the two-story ceiling of Chapelle Royale at Versailles, France. Beneath the cherubs, gold rays representing the "Sun King" and the royal Coat-of-Arms are depicted. The baroque chapel was Louis XIV's last addition to Versailles. It was designed by architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart.

Comissioned by Napoleon III and then overseen by Baron Haussmann, the Paris Opera as it was then called, was designed by Charles Garnier who at the time was an unknown thirty-five year old architect. Construction started in 1862 and ended in 1874 but the first opera wasn't held there until January 15, 1875.

The State Theatre opened on the 7th of June 1929. The Theatre was the vision of Stuart Doyle, owner of Union Theatres & the esteemed architect Henry White who fuses eclectic elements of Gothic, Italian & Art deco design to produce an exquisite theatre, which can truly be described as a "Palace of Dreams". It was to be seen as "The Empire's Greatest Theatre" & was designed as a picture palace when such monuments to movies were at their grandest & most spectacular.

Date: 2010-01-07 02:50 pm (UTC)Пардон, по долгу службы вынуждена работать с китайскими поделками, все никак не могла понять, откуда ж такая мода на эти стеклянные висюльки пошла. А оказывается - из Версаля. Только тут хрусталь, красотища, а там чуть что не пластик. Смотрится кошмарно.
*затыкает себе рот, пока еще дальше не понесло про работу*
А вообще ужасно красиво. Вот с такими светильниками я бы поработала...
